It is possible to create immaculate blemish-free tile but it comes at a cost. That cost is the sacrifice of sustainability. The traditional process, which meticulously selects small, flawless sections from larger stone blocks and discards the remainder—sometimes as much as 80%—is a narrative we at Borrowed Earth choose not to author.
Our ethos is encapsulated in our name: we borrow from the Earth, and in doing so, pledge to honor its natural bounty, not deplete it in the pursuit of an artificial ideal.
